Youngest-ever recipient's commitment to yoth

SHERRYN O’Flaherty on Monday became the town’s youngest-ever recipient of the Boort Ward’s Australia Day Citizen of the Year.

Her contributions to the community and helping youth were applauded by ward councillor David Weaver when presenting the certificate during the ceremony.

Cr Weaver said Sherryn was an outstanding example of investing in the town’s next generation.

Sherryn is an organiser of the annual debutante ball, involved with hockey and the school parents’ club and the popular weekly Parkrun.

Boort’s ceremony on Monday was organised by Amity with Boort Babblers leading the National Anthem.
