Young fish perched into ‘silvery’ little lake

A SECOND release of fingerlings in a fortnight has been completed by Boort Angling Club members.

They released 10,000 silver perch into Little Lake Boort as part of the Victorian Fisheries Authority 2026-2027 release program.

A week earlier members had been part of the release of 48,000 Murray cod fingerlings near the Fernihurst Weir.

Club president Alan Wilson said more than 80,000 silver perch fingerlings were being released across northern Victoria in the annual stocking program.

Releases of perch and cod are also planned at Laanecoorie Reservoir.
