You deserve this, councillor tells Brian

TARNAGULLA Ward Citizen of the Year Brian Baker was surprised and questioning when Cr Nick Angelo called last week to tell of the award.

Cr Angelo recounted the modesty of Brian during Monday’s Australia Day ceremony in Eddington.

“You deserve this award, always doing more than your bit for the community,” Cr Angelo told Brian.

The Laanecoorie farmer has been active in the CFA for more than 50 years and involved in most district organisations.

Brian traditionally starts his Australia Day with the Eddington breakfast that this year took on added significance, receiving congratulations from wife Leonie, son Dale and the community.
