Repair crews arrived this morning to make a temporary fix at the intersection of Brooke Street and Verdon Street after a section of resurfacing failed integrity tests on Tuesday.

However, the contractors of the original project are not expected back at the Calder Highway site until next week, sources have told the Loddon Herald

Traffic was initially reduced to one lane on Tuesday before the street between Verdon and Houston Streets was closed and detours put in place late in the afternoon.

This morning traffic was being diverted around the works with trucks sent past Inglewood Primary School.

Traders have expressed frustration that they were not told repair works would start on Tuesday and have received no updates since from the contractor or Department of Transport and Planning.

Both lanes of Brooke Street are expected to be open later this afternoon.

Surveyor white dots are also visible on the the opposite side of the intersection - also in a deteriorated stated - but there has been no information when this section will be repaired.

The department is still to respond to inquiries from the Loddon Herald from Tuesday and again today.
