Wintery storm winds whip through trees

TRAFFIC had to take detours on Loddon roads when storms whipped through part of the region on Saturday evening.

The Bridgewater-Arnold Road became impassable in several places when strong winds brought down trees after 6.30pm.

Motorists told the Loddon Herald that they had to find alternative routes.

Lightning lit up the night sky and brought further rain to the district with total falls so far this month heading towards 100mm.
