The Bridgewater Hotel Loddon River comes alive on Friday August 26 for an evening of Winter Magic.
A decadent Winter Feast will feature woodfire cooking techniques, fantastic local ingredients, winter inspired cocktails and amazing local wines that have been expertly paired with the menu.
“All this while being surrounded by the warmth of woodfires, candlelight and live acoustic music in the beautiful backdrop of the Loddon River,” said chef Ethan Egan.
“We really wanted to showcase the diversity and creativity the season of winter has to offer when it comes to the fantastic produce available at this time of year as well as the ability to use culinary techniques that flatter the cold weather such as roasting with coals or grilling on the open flame.
“Winter is truly a magical time of year that generally gets overlooked because the cold tends to make us want to hibernate.
“We wanted to put all this magic on display in one evening in front of woodfires, with food and drinks that come with comfort and warmth as well as music to tie the event together so that our guests can experience this magic for themselves.”
Ethan says the night will start with beautiful cocktails, specifically created to warm the body and soul, followed by a fire-Inspired Winter Feast where guests will be able to eat to their heart’s content on slow-cooked meats, winter vegetables and other delicious items.
“After the feast we will have another special cold climate inspired cocktail and a truly special, interactive, dessert that the guests will have a hand in preparing themselves on the night.”
Music on the night will be from Lucy Harrison, a local solo guitarist and singer who will be accompanying the evening with her fantastic live music.
Ethan said: “Thankfully we have a wealth of amazing local wineries in our area, with Jane Lawson from Black Wallaby Wines pairing an assortment of their fantastic vintages to our special menu for the night.
“As well as being featured through the Bendigo Regional Tourism’s Winter Ignite event we are super proud the be a part of the Loddon Gastronomy Project.
“Showcasing local producers in such a beautiful area of the Loddon with the scenery of the Loddon River at our door step is truly a pleasure. In creating this event we will be endeavouring to display some of the best produce the area has to offer,” he said.
