They've made it! The postie bikes have arrived in Boulia, 11 days after setting off on Carter's Legacy Ride honouring Carter Keeble and raising funds for Boort District Health, as participant Owen Rule writes.

Day 11 - 16 July 16

Mostly crosswinds estimated at 60kmh and even up to 70kmh pushed us back and forth across the road today and heaps of head winds that had the speeds down to 60kmh and even as low as 54kmh up a rise. Hard work concentrating and riding.

As is with any road trip, the trip up from Bedourie and coming over a crest of a hill, even the dullest would let an Ooh Wow! at the stunning views as were the views from Vaughan Johnson Lookout at the halfway mark. As usual a photo doesn't do it justice.

The group congregated at the Welcome to Boulia sign for photos signalling the end to an epic ride in honour of one little man. Not only an end to the ride but an end to months and months of planning and preparation that brought on some mixed feelings between a sense of achievement, an end of a journey that originated from a trip planned for Carter . A bit much for some.

What followed was a procession of eight postie bikes including two Australian flags lead by Lori and Ben Keeble through town and out to the event camp grounds. Something that I'm personally proud to be a part of.

Distance travelled 198km today. Total 2819km.

May the camel races begin !
