The final result saw a 77-59 loss, with the rink of Merilyn Chamberlain, Robert Stranger, Bruce McClymont and Geoff Wilson (skip) winning their match-up by three shots after a very tight and low-scoring contest, 14-11.

The rink of Brett Jackson, Simon Laird, Denis Wilson and skip Ian Chamberlain got home by just one shot, 19-18.

One big loss by 28-10 proved to be the difference between the two outfits.

Inglewood remains at the bottom of the ladder after five consecutive losses, with another unbeaten side in Castlemaine awaiting this Saturday.

Division 5 battled on gamely against top side Bendigo but was outclassed, losing 90-60.

Best rink on the day was David Shay, Patsy Lyndon, Kath McNaught and Ian Bradley (skip), which went down by only five shots.

The Division 5 team is also at the bottom, and travels this week down the highway to Bridgewater.

Monday pennant competition was cancelled due to the wet weather.

BRIDGEWATER

Bridgewater’s Division 5 side hosted Golden Square and made a solid start, with all rinks evenly matched early. The home side finished strongly to claim three rinks overall. Two of the club’s young players Curtis Mangan and Lachlan Catto combined well with veterans Vern Wilson and Rae Broadbent to record an impressive 35–10 win.

Meanwhile, the Goldfields side travelled to take on top team Maryborough Highland White but endured a tough day on the greens, losing both rinks.
