Day 2 July7: Bit of a messy start to the day with confusion on which servo to fill up at for a plan to head to Hay NSW. After a stop outside the Kyalite Pub, another of darling Jo’s biscuits, I pushed off early toward Moulamein. I wondered why the group didn't catch me. Turns out one of the bikes had a flat tyre and flipped a rider off. Rider suffered a sore foot and a damaged pride, suffered lots of gravel rash and a broken hand brake lever, so after a new tube fitted at Hay is back in the road. Lucky boy.

As usual the slowest bike arrived first at Hay. Turns out the Hay Tourist Information Centre has showers so the ladies and some of the “girls” had a shower before seeing up camp at Sandy Point Camp Ground on the babies of the Murrumbidgee River.

Thought for the day. Is one better off arriving at a place twice as far away and watching the scenery pass twice as fast? “I think not”.

Distance travelled: 236km
