Laanecoorie Weir has started spilling with water expected to rise along the Loddon River this afternoon and tomorrow.

Sections of the Wimmera Highway at Newbridge are underwater and motorists are urged to be cautious.

The minor flooding follows heavy overnight rain in many areas of the Loddon. More than 40mm has been recorded at Inglewood and more around Newbridge anmd Tarnagulla.

Wedderburn has recorded 30mm.

Damage to local roads is being assessed by Loddon Shire.

Flood advice will be issued by the Bureau of Meteorology and the Vic SES.
