Weekend birthday celebrations - Bridgewater Nursery turns six
A DREAM to create Loddon’s destination garden centre has grown and blossomed in the six years since Bianca Rothacker has converted a historic garage into Bridgewater Nursery.

Her vision now had people travelling from across country Victoria and beyond to select shrubs, plants, flowers, seedlings and garden art.
And this weekend, the iconic Bridgewater business will have even more specials as Bianca and her staff celebrate the nursery’s 6th birthday with customers.
“Our customers are amazing people who keep returning every year, every season, to stock up on quality plants for the garden,” said Bianca.
“And our staff love providing advice and service to help them grow their own special garden paradise.”
Bianca said Bridgewater Nursery was well known for its wide range of stock.
“Customers always say how much they enjoy shopping here and being helped by the staff,” she said.
Jack Higgs is now managing Bridgewater Nursery, having returned home with vast retail and customer service experience gained across Victoria, in Sydney and New York.
“Jack has an infectious enthusiasm for gardening and shares his knowledge with customers,” Bianca said.
“He is one of long-serving staff members leading the store team, backed up by Lisa Poole who is also a long-time favourite with customers along with my mum Jean and Jarrard Feathstone and our weekend crew members Ethan and Tyler McKewin.
“With just as much enthusiasm, there are Sue Andeerson and Paul Harrington who work in the wholesale area making sure the nursery is always well stocked.”
Bianca said the weekend’s birthday sale also marked the change of seasons - autumn signalling time to prepare winter vegetable patches and planting of new greenery.
Bridgewater Nursery also has an ever-increasing range of garden decor and indoor gift ideas.
“We have a huge range of garden decor in the nursery at the moment - special things that add a touch of elegance and interest……and don’t need watering - bird baths, statues, seats, water features, archways, pots, table settings and more.
“There’s everything you need to make your garden truly unique.”
And Bianca’s birthday tip for the garden: Geraldton Wax - Chamelaucium uncinatum.
“This super dooper Aussie shrub takes heat and frost, and gives you masses of deep pink flowers through spring. Wispy, fragrant foliage you can’t help but touch, an upright habit…..and those flowers! It’s a winner.”
