The watch alert after flooding at Wedderburn has been lifted and the Calder Highway between Inglewood and Charlton is again open.

Motorists have been urged to allow extra time travelling the Calder Highway.

Water also remains across sections of the Wimmera Highway, the Loddon Valley Highway and the Bendigo-Maryborough road.

SES crews continue to respond to requests for help, including fallen tress, across the Loddon this evening.

Police and SES are urging care on roads.

The cleanup has started in Wedderburn that copped the brunt of the deluge overnight, peaking on Christmas Day morning.

Loddon Shire Council is assisting those who need emergency accommodation after their homes were flooded.
