VICTORIAN Electoral Commission will starts its review of Loddon Shire ward boundaries next month.
The commission confirmed on Monday that February 21 will signal the formal start of assessing the boundaries of Boort, Inglewood, Tarnagulla, Terrick and Wedderburn wards.
“We will be hosting information sessions ahead of that date, to explain the process – keep an eye on our website for the precise dates/times,” said communications manager Marie Guerin.
Ms Guerin said the commission did not have any plans to promote the information sessions locally, instead choosing “state-wide ads in major daily newspapers to promote all 10 councils undergoing a review”.
The review has been triggered by changes in ward populations with at least one ward now having more or less than 10 per cent of the enrolment average.
Draft new boundaries are expected to be decided within three months before they are sent to the State Government for approval. New boundaries will apply at local government elections in October.
