RESIDENTS can expect their questions to be answered faster under Loddon Shire’s new customer experience charter.

Councillors on Tuesday adopted the charter that will see the response time to emails cut by 24 hours to two days.

Director corporate Michelle Stedman told the meeting: “The success of this charter relies heavily on education across both officers and the community.”

The charter says that residents contacting council can expect “friendly and courteous officers that treat you with respect”.

It says staff will be realistic about what council can do and timeframes.

“When you email an individual department or council officer with a request or complaint the council officer will issue a response to you within two business days of receiving your request to provide you with a personalised acknowledgement including contact information and a timeframe for resolving your inquiry,” according to the charter.

Under the charter, council says it will have virtual meeting options to increase convenience and reduce access barriers for engagement with staff.
