NATIONAL Volunteer Week has ended with local organisations confident of boosting their membership.
Among them were groups in Inglewood where the town’s tourism development committee staged a volunteer expo on Sunday.
Almost a dozen organisations set up promotional tables on the lawns outside the town hall.
They ranged from the football and pony clubs to the fire brigade, RSL sub-branch, men’s shed and historical society while Inglewood Lions Club members cooked sausages for residents and visitors to town learning more about vibrant local organisations.
Tourism development committee president Carey Ims said the expo had engaged the community. “And the best thing is that some of the organisations have picked up new volunteers.”
