Transmission Company Victoria has opened a regional office in Kerang.

In a statement on the VNI West project, TCV said:

to provide landholders and community members who are interested in VNI West the chance to ask questions, provide feedback and learn more about the project. Members of the project team will be available on two days each week to discuss the project and provide further information. No appointment is necessary - community members are welcome to drop in at any time during opening hours. The TCV regional office will be open from 11.30am to 5pm on Tuesdays and 8.45am to 2pm on Wednesdays. The office is located at Shop 15, 47 Victoria Street, Patchell Plaza, Kerang. VNI West Project Director Sam Magee said “We hope that the regional office will provide an additional avenue for the local community and landholders in the draft corridor to find out more about the project and speak directly with the project team. “The office will initially operate until the end of March 2024. If landholders and communities find it useful, we will look at extending the initial lease, and consider opening a second office at another site within the draft corridor." “TCV will soon commence the regulatory planning and approvals process for VNI West,” he said. “Over the next 12-18 months, the project will be assessed through detailed studies of cultural heritage, the environment, agriculture and more. Community consultation and input will be an important part of this rigorous process. “Please note that the office is a small space and while we will do our best to accommodate all visitors, there is a capacity limit of four people. If you would like to meet with TCV in a larger group, please call us on 1800 824 221 and we will do our best to find a suitable time and place. “Landholders are also welcome to make use of the office to meet with their landholder liaison”
