RESTORATION of the dangerous Royal Hotel verandah in Inglewood is expected to start within weeks.

Melbourne-based VPD Construction last Friday erected new construction fencing around the verandah of the hotel that has been closed for almost two years.

The company’s Matt McEwan said work was expected to start in August when building materials on order since May should arrive.

Mr McEwan said initial work would investigate the current verandah before making a start to rectify and replace sections facing Brooke and Verdon Streets.
