$100K DRUG BUST
POLICE have seized drugs with an estimated street value of $100,000 in a routine vehicle search.
They allege 185 grams of methamphetamine was found in a car at Laanecoorie on Sunday morning.
Acting Sgt Rueben Larson said police from Central Goldfields highway patrol, Wedderburn and Serpentine had stopped a 43-year-old male from Sale at about 10am.
Sgt Larson said police searched the vehicle in Cains Road, near the Bridgewater-Maldon Road, and also found a quantity of cash in the vehicle.
The man has been remanded to appear in court at a later date.
Sunday’s bust is the second by Loddon police in the last month .
A man was remanded in custody and a woman was expected to be charged after being stopped at a police drug and alcohol testing site in Wedderburn.
Sgt Ben Huismann said police seized drugs with an estimated street value of $35,000 when they stopped the vehicle.
“Central Goldfields Highway Patrol, Wedderburn and Serpentine police were conducting roadside drug and alcohol testing in Wedderburn when they intercepted a vehicle in High Street Wedderburn,” Sgt Huismann said after the arrest.
“Police located a commercial quantity of methamphetamine in possession of the male passenger who was charged and remanded in custody.
“The female driver who was also in possession of methamphetamine was charged and bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates Court at a later date.”
The two are from Mildura and were travelling north when stopped by police in Wedderburn.
Sgt Huisman had described the seizure of the drugs last month as significant.

Victoria Police will increase traffic enforcement operations over the Christmas and holiday period, targeting dangerous behaviours including speed, distractions, and drink and drug driving.
