Community house manager Louise Cook presented the cheque to leader of the project’s Lions club sub-committee, Jude Raftis at the town’s Christmas celebrations on Friday night. The donation was from funds raised through sales at the op-shop during the year.

Mrs Raftis said her sub-committee was grateful for the support that demonstrated backing from the community for the vision.

The group has spent the last two decades raising funds to provide options for aged living in the town. “The donation is most kind and generous and we thank the community house for its support,” she said.

Loddon Shire has extended an agreement for land in Wilson Street to be used for a new facility.
