Two mid-quarter goals within a minute gave Bears Lagoon Serpentine the buffer to hold out a determined Calivil in the final quarter of today's Loddon Valley football.

The visiting Demons went into the final break ahead on the scoreboard as the lead fluctuated all day.

Bears managed to worked to the lead, extended it to 20 points mid-way through the final term before Calivil made one last lunge and pegged the margin back to seven points at the siren.
