A MAN has been airlifted to Melbourne after an alleged stabbing at McIntyre

The 62-year-old, believed to live in Clay Gully Lane, has life-threatening injuries.

Two men have been arrested.

Clay Gully Lane remained closed and the property taped off as a crime scene. Police from Loddon stations and also Maryborough have been on the scene since late Saturday afternoon.

Two SES tents have been erected within metres of the house.

Police said: "Emergency services were called to reports a man had been stabbed at a property on Clay Gully Lane about 4pm. The 62-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"Two men, a 28-year-old and a 53-year-old, were later arrested in Inglewood and are expected to be interviewed. It is believed the parties are known to one another."

They said the was investigation was ongoing but did not indicate when Clay Gully Lane would re-open to traffic.
