Pyramid Hill was better prepared for flood than 2011, local fire brigade captain Steve Mann has told a community meeting this afternoon.

Captain Mann said he had been told Loddon Shire that the size and height expected in Pyramid Hill would be similar to 2011.

He said it could not be guaranteed that people could leave town after tomorrow (Sunday) night.

Captain Mann said the peak was expected in Pyramid Hill around lunchtime Monday.

Currently, four excavators a building a levee bank around the town higher than the levee in 2011

“In 2011 we didn’t know what to expect and were behind the eight ball to start with. This time it is similar height but we are much more prepared and we don’t expect water to get into town,” he said.

Captain Mann told the packed memorial meeting that Loddon Shire would establish a relief centre at the senior citizens’ centre.
