INGLEWOOD and Tarnagulla voters will be off to the polls in the Loddon Shire Council elections next month.
Former long-time councillor Colleen Condliffe and Serpentine and Bridgewater North farmer Miki Wilson will challenge first-term councillor Wendy Murphy in Inglewood Ward.
Mrs Condliffe, who lost to Cr Murphy by 43 votes in 2020, and Mrs Wilson lodged their nominations with the Victorian Electroral Commission at its Loddon election office in Serpentine on Thursday. Cr Murphy lodged her formal bid for re-election today, Friday.
Lodgement has been confirmed by the VEC despite errors on its website showing only one candidate at any one time - Mrs Condliffe in the Thursday morning update, Mrs Wilson in the Thursday evening update and Cr Murphy in the Friday morning update.
In Tarnagulla Ward, Laanecoorie's Nick Angelo has lodged his nomination in a bid to replace first-term councillor Linda Jungwirth who is seeking another term. Carly Noble and Charmain Shepherd have said they will also nominate for the ward.
Cr Dan Straub is the only nomination to date in Terrick Ward.
No nominations have been received for Boort and Wedderburn Wards by Friday morning. David Weaver has indicated he will stand in Boort Ward.
Nominations officially close on Tuesday.
