The plan for thriving vision that ‘will drive improvement’
WORKSHOPS with councillors, the community reference group and council’s internal working group developed Loddon’s revised community vision 2035 adopted at Tuesday’s shire council meeting

The visionary document takes the theme of “Thriving communities where everyone is welcome and all have the opportunity to live, work and create experiences”.
The plan aims to drive council’s strategic direction through five main themes - Thriving, Welcome, Live, Work and Experience.
Chief executive officer Lincoln Fitzgerald said: “These themes reflect the priorities identified by the community in setting the community vision and provide the framework for council’s strategic objectives, strategies and strategic indicators for the next four financial years.”
“During the community consultation period Council received feedback on the draft plan. The themes of this feedback were centred around supporting volunteers, mitigating the impact of ultraviolet light health hazards, specific project ideas and recognition and support of first nations people outcomes.
Mayor Dan Straub said: “The purpose of this plan is to guide council’s decision making over the four years. The plan does not address all the things that council works on, rather it reflects the major challenges facing council and community, priorities and initiatives that will help us continue improving our shire.
“I look forward to working together to deliver on our shared priorities and make Loddon a thriving place for all,” Cr Straub wrote in the council plan.”
The plan says Loddon Shire has a rich Aboriginal and Goldfields history
Councils are required to prepare new plans every four years under State Government regulations.
