THE ORACLE
WITH just five home and away rounds left, the finals race is still up for grabs, with Maiden Gully and Newbridge still within striking distance of snaring a spot from Macorna or Inglewood if either slip up on the run home.

WITH just five home and away rounds left, the finals race is still up for grabs, with Maiden Gully and Newbridge still within striking distance of snaring a spot from Macorna or Inglewood if either slip up on the run home.
The game of the round is at Bridgewater, where Marong travels up the Calder to take on the Mean Machine.
Both sides had solid wins last week, and this game will go to the side that plays the best footy on the day.
Flip a coin – Bridgewater. Just.
Inglewood hosts the Mitiamo Superoos, and with their midfield of Marciano and Cotchett on deck the Blues should get plenty of forward entries to stifle any chance of Mitiamo winning this contest. Inglewood with a percentage-boosting win at home.
Pyramid takes on the Demons at the Kennel and will be smarting from last week’s loss to the Panthers.
Too much at stake for the Dogs, and they will be too strong at home for the young Demons.
Maiden Gully tackles the Bears at the Dome, and assuming that the ground will be heavy underfoot this will be a game in which Serp will be half a chance.
The Eagles, though, have too much to lose and can’t afford to let this one slip.
They will just get over the line in a close one.
The last game is another cracker with fourth playing seventh, with a finals spot still up for grabs for both sides.
Newbridge is likely to be bolstered by the return from injury of key forward Brandon Dimech.
Macorna, meanwhile, has match winners with Matt Colak and young Sam Whinfield in the middle.
Macorna must win this game to keep the chasing pack at bay.
It’s a tight tussle for fourth and fifth spots on the ladder and things will be clearer after Saturday.
