INGLEWOOD
The midweek Division 5 team had their first loss of the season with both rinks going down to Bendigo last week.
It was a tight contest with only a few shots in it towards the finish and the result could have gone either way.
Division 1 bounced back again and trounced the undefeated South Bendigo team in another encouraging performance.
On top of the ladder, which is a pleasant surprise, but early in the season and only a loss away from slipping back to fourth or fifth, all rinks the had strong wins against South Bendigo on a fast green.
Premier League put in a better performance on Saturday against the also winless Bendigo East.
One rink is currently struggling, but the other three rinks put in creditable performances.
Last week’s team of the week, with a couple of changes did it again with a great win. The team of Daniel Garrett, John McClymont, Craig Kelly and Rob Day had a strong 18-shot win.
The Division 6 team had another win and this time against the undefeated Eaglehawk.
Two wins out of three games is a wonderful start to the season. Especially with a lot of experienced players from last year either promoted or not playing.
Saturday night’s barbeque was very enjoyable, so book Saturday December 2 for the next one as both teams are home on this day. All money raised at these barbeques is going towards the club’s donation for the Regional Charity Round in January.
BRIDGEWATER
Both teams played at home this week with the Division Five side playing Strathfieldsaye in once again windy conditions.
The game was evenly poised at the half way mark but Strathfieldsaye pulled away to win three rinks to one, and Bob Smith’s rink came from five shots down to sneak home by one shot.
The Division Seven side played Bendigo East with two more new bowlers making their debut for the club. George Marban and David Payne.
Both rinks lost with Ron Brown’s rink losing narrowly by one shot.
