Swiss sales on property for first time
LEADING Australian brown Swiss cattle stud Tandara will make history with its first on-property auction this week.

The stud’s Ben Govett believes the auction will spread the stud’s consistent genetics to other herds across Australia.
Ben said there had been an increase in private sales in recent years and the value of stud genetics had been strong.
“There is a good return on investment in stud cattle and the auction will give more people the ability to invest in the breed,” he said.
“There are few single stud sales so this will be an important step both for the stud and the industry.
The auction will see 49 brown Swiss cattle go under the hammer.
“We have all watched the amazing achievements of the Tandara Brown Swiss in the show ring, on farm competitions, all-Australian awards, production records and in the sale ring,” said auctioneer Brian Leslie.
“Tandara have won the premier breeder banner at International Dairy Week an incredible 19 times and the exhibitor banner at IDW 20 times.
“Tandara Brown Swiss cows have been awarded the coveted grand champion at IDW an amazing 17 times
“More importantly we have noted what the Tandara Brown Swiss do for others, just this year the Grand Champion Brown Swiss at IDW was Tandara Dairystar Lola 99 winning for Shirleen Evans.”
