THE annual Wedderburn Historical Engine & Machinery Society Swap Meet was held last weekend, attracting strong crowds of collectors, bargain hunters and machinery enthusiasts to Wedderburn for one of the district’s most popular community events. Hosted by the Wedderburn Historical Engine & Machinery Society Inc., the swapmeet once again transformed the grounds into a bustling marketplace filled with stalls offering a wide range of items for sale. Visitors spent the day browsing through tools, machinery parts, vintage goods, collectables, automotive items, memorabilia and bric-a-brac, with many keen to uncover a hidden treasure or hard-to-find item. The event attracted people from across the region, with enthusiasts travelling to Wedderburn to catch up with fellow collectors and enjoy the relaxed country atmosphere the swap meet has become known for over many years. Throughout the day there was a steady flow of visitors exploring the stalls, chatting with vendors and taking in the large variety of goods on display. Many stallholders reported strong interest in their items, while buyers enjoyed the opportunity to search through everything from antique machinery pieces to household collectables and spare parts. Organisers were pleased with the support shown by the community and visitors alike, with the annual event continuing to be a major drawcard for the town. Food and refreshments were available throughout the day, allowing visitors to spend several hours at the venue enjoying both the social atmosphere and the extensive range of stalls on offer.
