Students set to experience ‘making do’
THE classroom at Mysia will return as a centre of learning for students next week.
THE classroom at Mysia will return as a centre of learning for students next week.
Boort District School Year 6 students will experience a day of learning 1940s style at Mysia War Memorial School when they visit on Wednesday.
Now a community hub, the centre’s committee of management is sponsoring the visit by students next Wednesday.
Secretary Sue Gould said: “We will be doing activities on the theme of ‘making do’ on the home front”.
The work of students will be displayed at Mysia’s Anzac Day dawn service.
Mysia War Memorial School was opened on May 24 1921 by Governor, Earl of Stradbroke after district residents raised 500 pounds. The school closed in the 1970s.
The committee organised the first ever Anzac Dawn Service last year that was attended by more than 100 people.
