Students in outdoor trek through rain
EAST Loddon P12 College students have braved the wintery conditions to explore the Otway Ranges, Apollo Bay and Skenes Creek.

EAST Loddon P12 College students have braved the wintery conditions to explore the Otway Ranges, Apollo Bay and Skenes Creek.
The VCE Outdoor and Environmental studies students researched native flora, fauna, find out about recreational pursuits) plus practiced minimal impact strategies, hazard reduction, prepare group meals and generally ensure they were looking after themselves in the outdoors.
More than 50mm of rain didn’t stop students from surfing, bushwalking, cooking a barbecue and having fun, said teacher Sarah Krahe.
While in Apollo Bay students also visited the Wildlife Wonders Sanctuary and participated in some small hikes along the Great Ocean Walk and Mait’s Rest in the Otway Ranges.
