LODDON students have been among the first in Victoria exploring vocational opportunities with a new Minerals Council of Australia school program.
Pyamid Hill College students last week visited Fosterville Mine, near Bendigo, and Wedderburn College students will take their tour in May.
Minerals Council of Australia’s Victorian executive director James Sorahan said the program launched last month.
“It’s about raising awarness of jobs that are available in mining in Victoria and Australia ... we want to give opportunities for locals to come into the sector where there are pathways for people interested in trades through to university-based science courses and high-tech roles,” he said.
