REPAIR work on a section of dangerous footpath has been criticised as leaving the streetscape looking unfinished.

Boort residents last week vented disappointment online about the replacement ashphalt works in Boort’s Godfrey Street by Loddon Shire.

Council’s director operations Steve Van Orsouw said: “This work addressed immediate safety concerns caused by lifting pavers and was delivered as part of the renewal budget for 2025-2026.

“It was not subject to broader community consultation, as the replacement was like-for-like in terms of alignment and location.

The approach taken was continuing the asphalt footpath past the IGA, removing the trip hazards.

“At this stage the works are permanent, not temporary. They form part of council’s ongoing program of renewing priority sections of footpath across the shire.”
