A FEW light sprinkles merely settled the dust as thousands traversed Rheola Recreation Reserve today for the 151st charity carnival.
Loddon Mayor Gavan Holt, who officially opened the event, said the carnival was an icon of the shire's event calendar.
Cr Holt joined locals whose families have been part of the day since its inception and visitors from across the region to enjoy traditional activities.
In the distance they saw dark clouds were were dumping rain in Inglewood and wiping out power supplies right across the Loddon Shire.
Wedderburn, Boort and district were expected to have supplies returned by 4pm this afternoon. Inglewood, where the supermarket was forced to close soon after 3pm, Bridgewater, Tarnagulla, Newbridge and other southern areas are expected to have supplies back by 7pm, according to Powercor.
