ELECTION candidates will be given a clear message from Loddon Shire - fund strategic infrastructure and services for the future of rural communities.
A council wish list ahead of the May federal poll and Victoria’s state vote in November wants candidates to stand up for local towns.
Topping council’s list released this week is a new model for child care in rural communities, a designated swimming pool maintenance and replacement fund and improved telecommunications services and connections.
Increased Federal and State Government cash for local roads and streetscape improvement projects at Inglewood and Bridgewater are also part of council’s
vision to achieve population and economic growth in all local towns.
Mayor Dan Straub said” Now is not the time to defer or delay these vital and important needs of our local communities.”
“We have put together a measured but realistic list of what our communities need for the future and we will be seeking commitments and canvassing all MPs and candidates ahead of both the federal and state elections,” Cr Straub said.
