MATT Rowe has powered to his maiden century in a run spree at Kingower on Saturday.
The opener reached his ton off 114 balls to see the home side street ahead of Boort.
Rowe had a 119-run second wicket partnership with skipper Jayden Leach and remained at the crease until the innings was declared.
Boort Yando had made Kingower work hard for the victory, opening the batting with a first stand partnership between captain Josh Smith and Alex Cockerell putting 105 on the board.
Will Perryman added to the Boort flamboyancy - his first six scoring shots were 6,4,4,6,6 and 4 and he remained not out when the 35 overs had been bowled and the visitors setting a target of 182 for Kingower.
Sam Carroll was the field star for Wedderburn in the home match against Arnold.
Carroll snared the early wicket of opener Ryan Metelmann and then had Mick Dale out for a duck while also taking the catches of Kale Hewett and Davies.
Co-opener Phil Scholes gave an Owen Lockhart delivery the big six treatment only for Lockhart to come back in his next over and have Scholes out first ball.
Will Holt also chipped in with two wickets and then headed to a season best with the bat as Wedderburn quickly chased down Arnold’s 131.
Holt’s opening effort included a monster six into the trees at the Bendigo end of Market Square, followed next ball by a strident boundary.
He then became the first of three victims for young Arnold bowler Finn Lock whose first ball saw Holt out for 58. Luke Holt carried on the run chase with a solid 43 before, he too, was dismissed by Lock and caught by Campbell Hancock. Lock and Hancock have stamped themselves as emerging stars for Arnold over the past month.
Hancock took five wickets in one match, a feat equalled by Lock a fortnight ago. Lock finished the weekend’s match with three.
Hancock is playing junior cricket with Kangaroo Flat this season and had rested a fortnight ago after a back niggle.
Lock is playing with Bridgewater in the Upper Loddon junior competition.
