Society cracks grave code

THE stories of 25 Wedderburn pioneers are now being told through QR codes placed on their graves.
Wedderburn’s historical records museum last week placed the codes on 24 graves at the town’s cemetery and one at Thomas Whyte’s Lonely Grave.
Visitors can now hold their mobile phones to these badges and receive a brief talking slide show detailing the life of the pioneers, including William Crisp and Joseph Morecroft.
Society secretary Alan Mulraney said: “At this stage the main focus of the QR code project is on pioneers that lived in Wedderburn prior to 1900 but once that avenue has been exhausted the next phase will be for people from 1900 to 1950.”
