FADED and hard-to-read history boards are being replaced in Loddon communities.

The first of the updated signs have been installed in Inglewood and Wedderburn with more to be rolled out in other communities in the next few months.

Loddon Shire’s manager tourism and economic development David Stretch said: “An audit of tourism signage across the Loddon Shire was completed in late 2024. More recently, Loddon’s tourism team has been working with local communities to identify priority areas where signage will be updated or replaced.

“Works to undertake the replacement of signage has now commenced,” Mr Stretch said. The new history boards bring a contemporary touch to telling the rich heritage of communities to locals and visitors.

Some weather-beaten signage had been in place for several decades. The history boards complement blue heritage plaques on buildings in Loddon towns.
