ON THE banks of the Loddon River at Bridgewater, Dave and Jayne Lawson nurture their award-winning vineyard.
Black Wallaby Wines has just take out the top award at the Daylesford Wine Show, collecting the Julian West trophy for best winery-winemaker producing less than 25 tonnes a year. Success at the major boutique wine show also included a gold medal for the Bridgewater winery’s 2021 pinot noir, pipped by half a point for the class trophy. “We grow and create outstanding wines using sustainable farming practices that showcases quality Australian produce to the world; using passion, love and commitment as the key ingredients,” they said. Adds Jayne: “Dave is innovative and passionate about his craft and takes great pride in growing the best quality fruit he can, then producing this into beautiful, elegant wines
