Session explores role of the volunteer
THE first session of a new volunteer development program to strengthen Loddon organisations has been held at Serpentine.

THE first session of a new volunteer development program to strengthen Loddon organisations has been held at Serpentine.
The program has been developed by facilitator Leah Sertori (Sertori Consulting) and Jude Hannah, of Loddon leadership consultancy THREADz, in partnership with Loddon Shire Council.
“Rather than focusing solely on governance and committee structures, the program explores the people behind volunteering—building stronger communication, understanding different personality styles, active listening, leadership, collaboration and creating healthy, sustainable volunteer groups,” Jude said.
“The response from participants has been incredibly positive, with many commenting that the program offered practical tools and conversations they had never experienced in volunteer training before.”
Jude said the program was suitable for anyone currently volunteering, thinking about volunteering, serving on a committee, or wanting to strengthen community groups within the Loddon Shire.
A second series of two the program will be held in Serpentine later this month.
Loddon Shire says the half-day workshops are designed specifically for people who give their time to community groups, committees, sporting clubs, hall associations, progress groups, and everything in between.
“This program is our way of investing in you — of offering you time to connect, reflect, grow, and be celebrated alongside others who are doing exactly the same thing,” the shire says.
