BAREBCUE, cards and billiards started the year’s activities for Boort Senior Citizens’ Club last week.

President Trevor Taylor said the club had 30 members who were looking forward to a year of “normal activities after COVID interruptions”.

He served with the Royal Australian Air Force for five years with postings around Australia and in Singapore.

Trevor first came to Boort in 2000 as a chef at the town’s Railway Hotel, worked in Melbourne’s leading hotels and then returned to Boort a decade later.

Among members who welcomed Loddon Mayor Dan Straub to last week’s first gathering of 2022 was another former Railway Hotel chef Irene Partels.
