A State Government media release on roads had left Ripon voters scratching their heads according to Ripon MP Louise Staley.
She said the Minister for Roads statement was blatant attempt to wallpaper over the Government’s complete neglect of roads, the Minister claiming that some upcoming road maintenance is part of their “ongoing investment in upgrading regional Victoria’s transport network”.
Ms Staley said: "To claim that Daniel Andrews and his Government are in the process of upgrading regional roads is ridiculous. For eight years, they have been in the process of completely neglecting our roads to the point where many of them are bordering on impassable. Where are the upgrades exactly? They
really must be joking.
"To use spin and claim that egional roads are a priority for the Andrews Government is transparently false.
"Unlike Labor, who cut the Country Roads and Bridges program when they formed Government, the Liberal Nationals have committed to bringing back the essential program," she said.
