REBECCA Buschmann was sunburnt and had feet covered in blisters after her 40km walk from Bridgewater to Wedderburn last week.
The Wedderburn mother started her walk raising funds for the Black Dog Institute soon after 9am.
“I had a few stops along the way, determined to make sure the walk was finished,” said Rebecca.
“I finally got home and into bed at 11.30pm - the feet had plenty of blisters and took a few days to recover.”
Rebecca completed the solo walk, reversing the journey taken by son Peter two years ago.
“There was a lot of support and I’ve already raised more than $800 for the Black Dog Institute,” she said.
“I’m hoping that my final figure will pass $1000 to help the mental health group.”
Rebeccca said she had been encouraged by the support of people met during the walk.
“Some came up and told me their stories and that really helped keep the focus strong from start to finish,” she said.
“I slept very well last Tuesday night.”
