RURAL Financial Counselling Service will pilot a regional small business support program.

RFCS Victoria West, which now includes the Loddon, will be part of the Australian program to receive $8.6 million funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Agency.

Local executive director David Staffford said: “We see that when local businesses thrive, local communities thrive, and when regions thrive, Australia thrives.”

“We’ve seen how crucial our small business team’s work has been over the past 18 months yet there are still some regional small business owners who don’t know about us, haven’t accessed our free service, and could really use some assistance,” he said.

“It could be a simple issue easily resolved before it becomes more serious however our financial counsellors are often supporting small owners through complex adverse situations.”

RFCS Victorian West staff are currently working with several Loddon businesses.
