Coming to the crease at seventh drop after Will Deason was dismissed for a superb 87 and with his side 7-162, Rose belted 38 from 24 balls, including three fours and a six.

He dominated a 44-run partnership with Tynan Hywood (nine not out) as the Gower reached an imposing 8-208 from their 35 overs.

Then, when the Redbacks batted, Rose took the last two wickets to fall for no runs as Arnold crashed to 82 all out and a thumping 124-run defeat.

Arnold will regret winning the toss and asking Kingower to bat, with the early wicket of Kyle Simpson for four an illusory breakthrough.

Matt Rowe was joined by Deason for a 40-run partnership, which was followed by a quickfire 42-run stand with Blake Pickles, who hit 21 from 20 deliveries.

The score climbed steadily before Rose’s late-order pyrotechnics, with no bowler able to stem the run flow.

Deason’s 87 included seven boundaries and four sixes as he took to the Redback trundlers.

Cameron Dale took 3-54, but those runs came from just seven overs, with Ryan Metelmann’s 2-40 from seven the next best.

At 5-37, Arnold’s response was in all sorts of trouble, and the Redbacks staggered to 82, with only Tyler Friswell, with a slashing 36 from 29 balls with seven fours, and Flynn Lock (13) reaching double figures.

Rose’s 2-0 was complemented by Simpson’s 4-17 off seven overs, and Lachlan Dejong’s miserly 1-13 from seven overs.

Kingower is now second on the ladder behind runaway leaders Boort Yando and will host Bridgewater on Saturday.

Arnold (fourth) will travel to Wedderburn (third) and the Band’s tricky turf wicket.

BOORT Yando remains unbeaten and three games clear on top of the Upper Loddon cricket senior ladder following an 86-run win over Bridgewater Bulls.

The victory came after a fine batting performance from the Magpies’ top order, finishing on 2-173 from 35 overs.

Alex Cockerell batted through the innings to remain 55 not out from 86 deliveries. e and Jarrod Hodoras (35) put on a 70-run opening stand before captain James Byrne came to the crease and boosted the scoring rate.

Byrne was out in the last over for 65 from 60 deliveries, with two fours and two sixes.

It was an impressive score on the lush Boort surface, which made boundaries hard to come by. Most of the Bulls’ bowlers took some stick, with only Nic Naughton (1-31) and Ned Wickham (1-19) claiming wickets.

Captain Toby Naughton keep things tight with 0-19 from seven overs.

In response, Bridgewater was quickly in trouble, with opener Nicholas Dehnert LBW to the pace of Jack Weaver for a duck in the first over.

The Naughton brothers steadied the ship with a 52-run stand before Nic was out to the bowling of veteran Brian Minogue for 34 from 36 balls, including five fours and a six.

But once Toby (24) fell to Jarrod Hodoras with the score on 64, the Bulls innings crumbled dramatically. Seven wickets fell for 23 runs as nobody could make it to double figures.
