THREE Loddon roads will be closed up to six weeks for council works.
Work on a new culvert at Appin South Road, Sheepwash Creek, started on Monday and will take two weeks.
Floodway works on Brenanah-Wehla Road, near the Wedderburn Dunolly Rd and Brenanah Wehla Rd, were to start yesterday with work on Wedderburn Junction East Road, intersection of Inglewood Korong Vale Road and Wedderburn Junction East Road, to start on Monday. These projects will take up to six weeks to complete.
Contractors are completing the works with detour signage in place on the roads
Loddon Shire operations director Steven Phillips said works were part of council’s annual infrastructure program.
Mr Phillips said there were another 56 floodways that have been identified as flood damaged and yet to be approved for funding.
“Council is working through the process of getting funding approved under the State and Commonwealth Government’s Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements for those additional floodways. These works will progress over the remainder of this and next financial year,” Mr Phillips said.
