Road will be open ‘as much as possible’
A TEMPORARY closure of the Newbridge-Laanecoorie Road has caught some districts residents by surprise.
Loddon Shire work on the road started this week.
Director Operations Steve Van Orsouw said: “The project involves reconstructing about 1.3km of the road near the Prices Lane intersection, with works including the installation of culverts.
“This project will take about four to five weeks and there will be changes to road access between 7am and 6pm daily, with detours in place.
“However, council is working with the contractor to open the road up as much as possible.
“Local traffic will still have access during these times. Entering and exiting your property might be a little more difficult but we ask for your patience while we complete this work.
“Residents in the vicinity were informed via a letterbox drop but timelines for this closure have been shorter than usual as the start date depended on contractor availability between jobs.”
