Riving rising - new alert issued

The Loddon River at Laanecoorie is at 2.95 metres and rising with a moderate flood alert issued this afternoon, August 26.

The alert says moderate rainfall recorded since Monday evening has resulted in renewed river rises.

The flood peak has passed Bet Bet with minor flooding and is moving towards Laanecoorie Reservoir.

The Loddon River at Laanecoorie Reservoir is currently at 2.95m and rising, with minor flooding, and may reach around the moderate flood level (3) from Wednesday afternoon.

No significant further rainfall is forecast over the catchment.

Rain over the past fortnight continues to see some flooding of roads in the region and motorists are urged to drive with care.
