The Bureau of Meteorology expects the Loddon River downstream of Laanecoorie may reach 3.3 metres this afternoon.

Moderate flooding is expected, according to BoM warnings this morning.

The warning area includes Tarnagulla, Newbridge, Dunolly, Inglewood, Bridgewater and north to Kinypanial.

Loddon River upstream of Laanecoorie:

River levels are currently elevated along the Loddon River upstream of Laanecoorie.

The Loddon River D/S Cairn Curran is currently steady around 1.92 metres, below the minor flood level (2.00 m). Goulburn Murray Water is monitoring the situation closely.

Loddon River Laanecoorie to Loddon Weir:

Moderate flooding is expected along the Loddon River Laanecoorie to Loddon Weir.

The Loddon River D/S Laanecoorie is currently at 2.99 metres and rising, near the moderate flood level. The Loddon River D/S Laanecoorie is expected to exceed the moderate flood level (3.00 m) around 7:00 am Monday morning. The river level may reach around 3.30 metres Monday afternoon.

Loddon River Loddon Weir to Kerang:

Minor flooding is occurring along the Loddon River at Appin South. Renewed river rises and minor flooding may develop downstream at Loddon Weir from Monday evening.

The Loddon River at Appin South peaked at 2.80 metres around 11:00 am Sunday 18 September and is currently at 2.78 metres and falling, below the minor flood level. The Loddon River at Appin South is likely to remain around the minor flood level (2.80 m) during Monday.
