QUEENSLAND skier Kristy Appleton came within two metres of a new Australian record at the Australia Masters in Bridgewater at the weekend.

The under 14 skier competed up an age group and dominated events in the under 17 sections of the championships.

Appleton also won the Glenn Thurlow Trophy for the championships’ top skier.

Competitors come from across Victoria and interstate came for the 13th holding of the champ-ionships on the Loddon River.
