River levels have now eased along the Loddon River downstream Laanecoorie Reservoir, the Bureau of Meteorology said this morning.

The BoM reports:

River levels remain elevated downstream, and minor flooding is likely along the Loddon River at Appin South from Sunday afternoon.

In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Sunday no significant rainfall has been recorded across the Loddon River catchment. Rainfall totals of 5- 20mm are forecast during the next two days which are likely to cause renewed river level rises.

Goulburn Murray Water advise that Laanecoorie Reservoir is spilling, but that flows downstream are reducing.

Loddon River Laanecoorie to Loddon Weir:

Minor flooding has now eased along the Loddon River Laanecoorie to Loddon Weir.

The Loddon River at Downstream Laanecoorie is currently at 1.46 metres and falling. The Loddon River D/S Laanecoorie is likely to remain below the minor flood level (1.50 m) during Sunday.

Loddon River Loddon Weir to Kerang:

Minor flooding is continuing along the Loddon River at Downstream Loddon Weir and is likely to develop downstream at Appin South.

The Loddon River at Appin South is currently at 2.79 metres and rising, below the minor flood level. The Loddon River at Appin South is likely to exceed the minor flood level (2.80 m) Sunday afternoon. Further river level rises are possible during next few days.
